An iconic image of supermodel Nicole Trunfino breast feeding on set in an impromtu situation showcases an intimate mother and child moment.
Just recently, I directed a nursing session for myself and my son. I shyly asked my sister to photograph something I knew I wanted to capture forever on camera. I explained to her that there is a feeling I can’t quite describe — a proudness like no other. There’s a part of me that wants to keep him little forever, and I wanted a visual memory to hold onto. I wanted to capture his soft hands playing with my hair, that milk drunk face, that sweet angel that lay snuggled up against my body. These photos will also help me remember the first two weeks I underwent with a tongue-tied baby. The soreness I wished to be over with and the determination to get over this new learning curve and fall into a happy routine.
As I begin to think about weaning my baby, emotions start to stir at the thought of losing that feeling I’ve had struggles to explain. With these beautiful photos we captured that day, I made an album just for me. One that I can look back on and maybe, spark that same emotion I had as a new mom adoring every quiet moment we nursed.
With the supportive movement of normalizing breast feeding, I want to be that photographer you can ask to to capture your intimate mother and child moment. So, new to Vintage Duck Photography, I am proud to offer a new session called nursing/ baby carrying session.
Nursing / Baby Carrying sessions include:
10 digital files on a USB
A nursing session captures that special bond of mom and baby. Photographed in studio with soft lighting, warm blankets and pillows, this session will be a special keepsake that is just for you.
If you “baby wear” there is the option of photographing your baby in a favourite ring sling, wrap, carrier etc.
